In a move calculated to take account of the growing wealth and interest in philanthropy of the region, Swiss-based wise philanthropy advisors has announced that it is to open an Asian regional office in Hô Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Etienne Eichenberger of wise explains that ‘Asian countries do not yet offer the same environment for philanthropy as western countries, but there is a very strong potential. To have a base in Asia is a way for us to more easily reach individuals or families [and] … help them in defining their philanthropic project.’
