The way that grants are structured can be crucial to recipient charities, suggests a new report from New Philanthropy Capital (NPC). Well-structured grants, says the report, Granting Success, give charities the ability to attract the best staff, opportunities to plan and innovate, and flexibility. Poorly structured grants, on the other hand, can create risk and instability, which can have a detrimental knock-on effect on beneficiaries.
