The Annual provides a survey of organized philanthropy, drawing in part from Philanthropy News Digest, the Center’s daily online news service, as well as selected research findings in the annual Foundations Today Series and other Center sources. It includes topical issues from the mainstream and philanthropic press during 2008, including the impact of the economic downturn on the philanthropic sector; in-depth interviews and commentary from leaders and thinkers in the field; lists of the top foundations and public charities; statistical information about US grantmaking; and key contacts at philanthropy support organizations.
