The first issue of EFFECT, the European Foundation Centre’s new flagship publication for and about European foundations, has just been released. It will be published three times a year, and provide up-to-date coverage on the role and impact of foundations in Europe and around the world, as well as featuring trends in the sector; reviewing the political, legal and fiscal environments in which foundations work; and showcasing examples of how foundations carry out their work, both individually and collaboratively.
The first issue focuses on the challenges for global philanthropy, with special attention on the Spanish foundation sector, setting the scene for the EFC’s upcoming Annual General Assembly and Conference in Madrid at the end of May.
EFFECT replaces the former EFC secretariat newsletter, efc newsline, and SEAL (the Social Economy and Law Journal). New topic-specific electronic newsletters are being developed to focus in on some of the subject areas more broadly covered in EFFECT.
