According to a recent survey by Centro Mexicano para la Filantropía (Mexican Center for Philanthropy/CEMEFI), 38 per cent of respondents believe that the creation of alliances between civil society organizations with socially responsible companies is the most effective strategy to generate resources for social organizations. In order to stimulate this, CEMEFI itself has created the Philanthropic Search Engine. Data from more than 11,000 civil society organizations that operate in the country has been loaded onto an online platform that can be searched by anyone with internet access. CEMEFI director Jorge Villalobos said that the tool will promote transparency by presenting strategic information on registered institutions, and will facilitate communication and the creation of networks between organizations from different sectors that have the same social objectives.
