The Conference for Third Sector Research in Mexico is organized annually by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Cemefi), in collaboration with academic and governmental institutions. This is one of the most important academic forums for the presentation of research focused on civil society and the third sector.
This year is especially important for Mexico as we are in the run-up to federal elections that could change the social and political structure of the country. The objective of the conference is to analyse the characteristics of Mexican democracy and the role of citizens in order to strengthen it. ‘Democracy and Citizens’ Participation’ is the main theme of this year’s conference, to be held on 10-11 September at Universidad Panamericana, Mexico City.
More than 80 research projects from all over the country will be presented, covering topics such as the relationship between civil society organizations and government, corporate social responsibility and volunteering. International contributions are encouraged – please contact Cemefi if you would like to be involved.
