Members of the APPC Board have appointed Roberto R Calingo (Bobby, pictured) to fill the post of interim chief executive of the Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium.

An APPC board member since 2005, up to February 2009 Bobby was the executive director of TeamEnergy Foundation Philippines, the corporate citizenship arm of one of the country’s largest energy providers. He continues to be an active member of the League of Corporate Foundations, where he led several successful campaigns in promoting philanthropy in Philippine corporations. He has also recently been on the board of advisers to the Asian Institute of Management-TeamEnergy Center for Bridging Societal Divides. He previously served as executive director of the Philippine Business for Social Progress. He was a Synergos Fellow from 2001 to 2003.

Bobby will lead APPC while the organization carries out a strategic review, with the aim of crafting a new direction that is consistent with the growth of philanthropy in Asia and the Pacific.
