Impact Minds: Beyond Frontiers 2024

Between the 9th and 12th of September 2024, over 600 stakeholders from various sectors gathered in Oaxaxa, Mexico for the third iteration of Latimpacto’s annual Impact Minds Conference. 

Centring the theme of ‘Beyond Frontiers’ the event explored topics spanning innovative finance for impact, impact measurement and management, diversity, equity and inclusion, bioeconomy and climate change and the use of technologies to generate impact. Bringing together leaders of the social and environmental impact ecosystem worldwide, with a special focus on Latin America and the Caribbean, the Impact Minds 2024 created space for creative collaborations within and beyond Latin philanthropy and social investment.

Diversity, transformation and catalytic philanthropy at Impact Minds 2024

From September 10 to 12th, 653 attendees (36% from Mexico, 22% from Colombia, and the rest from other countries), including social investors from 36 countries gathered at the third edition of the Latimpacto Conference in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Through Impact Minds: Beyond Frontiers 2024, Latimpacto brought together prominent leaders and organisations committed to impact investing and social transformation in Latin America and the Caribbean. Nick Deychakiwsky and the Mott Foundation at Impact Minds 2024

Nick Deychakiwsky, Mott Foundation

Nick Deychakiwsky is a senior program officer working in the Enhancing Community Philanthropy program area of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation’s Civil Society Program.  In late 1990, Deychakiwsky moved to Ukraine, where he worked in various roles supporting democratic and economic reform before joining the Mott Foundation in 2000. Working in the Foundation’s former Prague office, he was responsible for grantmaking in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova until late 2006.

Deychakiwsky subsequently managed U.S. and global nonprofit/philanthropic sector infrastructure and community philanthropy grantmaking. Recently, his work has increasingly focused on Ukraine and Latin America and the role of community foundations in advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Read more…

A few weeks ago, the Impact Minds 2024 event was held, organised by the network promoting Venture Philanthropy, Latimpacto.

This edition, noted for its impeccable organisation and topic selection, allowed me to immerse for the first time in a space that brings together experts and visionaries committed to finding solutions to social problems through innovative and sustainable approaches, and through radical collaboration.

I am part of a civil organisation in Mexico called Fundacion Promover AC, which has focused on the development, training, and support of microbusiness owners since 2017.We have directly impacted over 4,500 businesses, their families, and communities with key performance indicators such as job creation, business sustainability, and qualitative factors that reflect our ongoing efforts to promote social mobility in our country.

This year, we had the opportunity to participate at Latimpacto’s Impact Minds: Beyond Frontiers 2024 conference, an event held in Oaxaca, MX. Catalysing transformation at Impact Minds 2024

Beyond borders, local challenges and office issues, 650 social investors from 36 countries took time to attend the third edition of the Latimpacto Conference ‘Impact Minds: Beyond Frontiers’ held in Oaxaca, Mexico.

From the 9th to the 12th of September 2024, the Latimpacto team provided a necessary environment to discuss how best to address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) in the region. The atmosphere of openness, closeness and trust that they provided through 50 learning spaces was excellent for deepening discussions on the role of corporations and high-net-worth families in achieving greater impact, systemic change, climate action, education, innovative finance, blended finance, the value of philanthropy in taking more risks and diversifying portfolios, among other topics on the social and environmental agenda. The urgency of addressing climate change: Insights from the Impact Minds Conference in Oaxaca

Laís Rocha is the Head of Impact for Venture Capital Investments at Vox Capital.

For the second time, Vox Capital participated in the Latimpacto Impact Minds Conference, held this year in Oaxaca, Mexico. The two-day event brought together 650 participants, including over 60 representatives from the Brazilian delegation.

Founded in 2009, Vox Capital is the first Latin American asset manager focused on socio-environmental impact investments. Since its inception, the global impact investing market has grown by 42%, and by 28% in Latin America, reflecting strong market momentum towards creating positive impact, according to the latest report by the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN).
