From Intelligent Funder to Intelligent Recipient: Civil society’s intermediary role in delivering change

What makes a funder intelligent, asks this paper? First of all, a willingness to listen to people on the ground, be a part of the culture, share values and act as part of the civil society (that is, as an active citizen, not simply as an external donor) where funding is invested. The intelligent funder should work with, and help to develop, an intelligent grantee able to carry out a joint strategy.
