The National Conference of the Community Foundations in Romania took place in Bucharest during 19-21 October, celebrating 15 years of community foundations at a national level and 10 years of the Romanian Federation of Community Foundations.
Within the frame of ‘Good gives us confidence’, over 150 delegates and speakers from all over the world celebrated the current state of community foundations in Romania and discussed the challenges and opportunities facing this movement.
Representatives of all 18 Romanian community foundations were present at the conference and took part in a plethora of conference sessions and workshops with over 50 national and international speakers debating social innovation, collective impact, communication, leadership, funding, and many other topics of interest.
A series of study visits facilitated by the Bucharest Community Foundation was also included in the schedule, emphasizing the results of supporting local communities on a constant basis.
The conference was supported by a network of partners such as the Romanian-American Foundation, the Bosch Romania Foundation, the Făgăraș Research Institute, Oxfam International, European Community Foundation Initiative (ECFI) and Inspire.
The Romanian Federation of Community Foundations supports 18 Community Foundations that develop over 8100 projects spanning 64 million LEI in community investments. Currently, Community Foundations have active programs in 29 out of 41 Romanian counties, and the network is continuously growing.
