Oak Foundation has announced the appointment of Douglas Griffiths as the new President of Oak Foundation.
Griffiths said, ‘I’m inspired by Oak’s commitment to support innovative solutions to global challenges. I look forward to getting to know everyone and to support your efforts to promote social justice and environmental protection.’
Douglas will join the foundation in January 2019 and brings thirty years of experience advocating for human rights, humanitarian relief, social development and environmental protection. Before joining Oak, Douglas was the diplomat in residence at the German-American George C. Marshall Center for International Security Studies.
‘Doug brings valuable skills and a global perspective to Oak,’ says Caroline Turner, Chair of the Oak Board of Trustees. ‘While there are no substantive changes planned for our programmes, Doug is in a strong position to support Trustees and Oak staff to continue – and further develop – the good work that is underway.’
Kathleen Cravero will step down in December, after having served ten years as President of Oak Foundation. ‘It has been a great privilege to work with the Trustees and staff of Oak,’ she says. ‘Over the past decade I have been inspired by the courage and determination of our partners across the world. I wish you continued success in the years ahead.’
