Impact Europe, have released a report exploring how companies and corporate organisations engage in impact investing as a key part of their sustainability strategy. It offers a comprehensive and diverse picture of impact investing in a corporate setting, culminating in a practical guide to getting started.
The report gives insights into corporate actors’ motivations for engaging in impact investing and the ‘win-wins’ which benefit business and have a positive impact on people and planet. These include adopting an innovative and holistic sustainability strategy, collaborating with impact entrepreneurs and being able to balance impact and profit, and create synergies with other areas of the business or foundation rather than operate in isolation. The report also finds that companies and corporate foundations adopt diverse approaches to impact investing.
Roberta Bosurgi, Impact Europe CEO, said: “The report shows the potential of impact investing as a strategic approach to accelerate the mobilisation of corporates’ assets for positive impact. Many of the corporate impact actors in our community are pioneers in this space and have been a key force for change in their organisations. We hope this report helps them bring the topic to the boardroom and catalyse more corporate action for good.”
