Engineers Without Borders Australia (EWB) and Arup Australasia have won the International Philanthropy award at the Philanthropy Australia Awards for their Emergency Sanitation Guidelines in Vanuatu project.

The Australian Philanthropy Awards recognise and celebrate extraordinary achievements in contemporary philanthropy and highlight partnerships between philanthropy and for-purpose organisations to honour those who are working to create lasting, positive change.

After a year marked by the challenges of the global pandemic, Philanthropy Australia CEO Jack Heath highlighted the critical role that bold, transformational philanthropy can play.

‘Despite all of the challenges of this tumultuous period, as these Awards demonstrate, there were organisations and individuals out there doing the things that philanthropy does best – innovating, collaborating, and delivering critical interventions to make a real difference in people’s lives,’ Heath said.

The Australian Philanthropy Awards recognise and celebrate extraordinary achievements in contemporary philanthropy for work that is visionary, high impact and transformative. They also celebrate partnerships between philanthropy and for-purpose organisations and honour those who are working to create lasting, positive change.
