The Asia Community Foundation (ACF) has appointed Sue Toomey as its new chief executive.

With over 20 years of experience across Asia, she will take charge at the Singapore based organisation.

‘Sue brings with her a wealth of leadership experience both in corporate and non-profit organisations across Asia–most recently as Chief Impact Officer at ACF’s sister organisation, Asia Philanthropy Circle,’ said ACF Chairman Stanley Tan.

‘With a deep commitment to unlocking funding potential to empower social impact organisations in the region, Sue is the ideal person to lead ACF in its next phase of growth and development following its launch in September 2023.’

ACF said it Toomey’s appointment marks a new chapter in addressing key socio-economic and environmental challenges facing Asia today.

The ACF officially launched in September as it seeks to address educational and sustainable development goals (SDGs) across Asia.

Described as the first Asia-focused independent community foundation, ACF functions as an intermediary between donors and non profit partners.

The foundation is incubated by the Asia Philanthropy Circle (APC), a network of philanthropists across Asia led by founders who have given a combined $300 million (Singaporean dollars) in grants.

ACF aims to build a community of donors across the private wealth space – from seasoned grant makers looking to amplify their impact, to newer givers seeking a partner to embark on their giving journey with. The foundation aims to support 200 active donors in their philanthropic endeavours and administer S$150 million a year towards lasting impact across the region by 2030.
