The UAE will host next year’s AVPN annual flagship Global Conference event, bringing together investors, philanthropists, policymakers and funders.
Taking place in Abu Dhabi over three and a half days, between 23 and 25 April 2024, the AVPN conference will be called “One Asia, One Future”.
It follows 2023’s event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which included the announcement of a $3 million fund focused on youth mental wellbeing, the first philanthropic pooled fund that focuses on youth mental wellbeing across Southeast Asia and South Asia.
Over the next three years, AVPN intends to raise $3 million to achieve the Fund’s objectives of supporting and fostering scalable and effective solutions formulated by credible and robust non-profit organisations; uniting a community of funders that bring scale and sustainability to a common portfolio and; reducing barriers faced by youths in achieving mental wellbeing.
AVPN says over 1,500 attendees are expected. Previous attendees have included representatives from BlackRock, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, Khazanah Nasional Berhad, KKR, Temasek Foundation, and Piramal Foundation.
AVPN is Asia’s social impact network group.
In July, it announced a new collaborative effort bringing together like-minded networks across Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa in a new collaboration called the Global Alliance of Impact Networks (GAIN).
