The nomination period has opened for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Council on Foundations’ 2017 Secretary’s Awards for Public-Philanthropic Partnerships.
The Council on Foundations’ annual conference will be held in Dallas, Texas from April 23-26, 2017. Its primary focus is to recognize excellence in cross-sector partnerships that increase the quality of life for low-and-moderate-income residents across all American geographies.
The partnership between the Council and HUD embodies the types of nominations they are seeking for the Secretary’s Awards as they are committed to both partnership and providing assistance and support to low-and-moderate-income individuals and communities.
The Council on Foundations provides philanthropy professions with the tools to meet today’s challenges in an effort to advance a culture of charitable giving in the U.S. and globally. Along the same vein, HUD is committed to creating strong and inclusive communities by creating quality and affordable homes.
With government and philanthropic institutions working together, these public-private partnerships help transform the relationship between the sectors, allowing for increased economic development, health, safety, and education..
Last year, the honorees included the Communities Foundation of Texas, The Annie E. Casey Foundation, and Incourage.
The Council on Foundations is openly accepting nominations for foundations to be recognized for their work in the public sector to be honoured at this year’s conference.
