Michael Alberg-Seberich
Michael Alberg-Seberich is managing partner at Active Philanthropy. He is a founding member and board member of the DemokratieAnstiftung e.V, a member of the board of trustees of the Foundation Schüler helfen Leben and a board member of the Canada Meets Germany Alumni Forum (e.V.). Michael holds a Masters in North American Studies and Anthropology from the University of Bonn.

Lucy Bernholz
Bernholz is a Senior Research Scholar at Stanford University’s Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society and Director of the Digital Civil Society Lab. She has been a Visiting Scholar at The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and a Fellow at the Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Center, the Hybrid Reality Institute, and the New America Foundation. She is the author of numerous articles and books, including the annual Blueprint Series on Philanthropy and the Social Economy, the 2010 publication Disrupting Philanthropy, and her 2004 book Creating Philanthropic Capital Markets: The Deliberate Evolution. She is a co-editor of Philanthropy in Democratic Societies, to be published in June 2016 by the University of Chicago Press. She writes extensively on philanthropy, technology, information, and policy on her award winning blog, philanthropy2173.com.
She has a B.A. from Yale University, where she played field hockey and captained the lacrosse team, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Stanford University.
Filiz Bikmen
Filiz Bikmen started working with non-profits in 2001, having come from the management consultancy sector. She is responsible for programmes and international relations at Sabanci Foundation, a member of the Governing Council of the European Foundation Centre, vice-chairman of the International Center for Not for Profit Law and a member of various councils of Turkish and international origin. She has authored several publications and has been writing for Alliancemagazine since 2004.

CAF Russia
Since 1993 CAF Russia has supported hundreds of charitable and non-profit organizations through grants and capacity building. Its projects include Foundation School, which encourages ultra-wealthy individuals to give more strategically. CAF Russia is also involved in shaping up the environment for giving in Russia, working with legislators and the media and building awareness through its own projects, such as its social media portal, www.philanthropy.ru

Cemefi
Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Centro Mexicano para la Filantropía – Cemefi) is a non-profit member association founded in 1988 with no political or religious affiliation. Its mission is to foster and connect committed, socially responsible philanthropic participation from citizens, civil organizations and corporations in order to achieve a more equitable, united and prosperous society. The association is made up of more than one thousand members (foundations, associations, corporations and individuals).

Dasra
Dasra founded and runs the Indian Philanthropy Forum, a membership body for philanthropists focussed on improving the strategic nature of their giving in India. It also runs Dasra Social-Impact, an executive education and capacity development programme for the leaders of non-profits and social businesses embarking on scaling their organizations.

The European Foundation Centre
The European Foundation Centre, founded in 1989, is an international membership association representing public-benefit foundations and corporate funders active in philanthropy in Europe and beyond. The Centre develops and pursues activities in line with its four key objectives: creating an enabling legal and fiscal environment; documenting the foundation landscape; building the capacity of foundation professionals; and promoting collaboration, both among foundation and between foundations and other actors.

GiveIndia
GiveIndia is India’s biggest online donation platform, which allows people to support a cause of their choice from about 200 charities that have been scrutinized for transparency and credibility. It does not raise funds for itself but helps people donate to other non-profit organizations. It also creates feedback reports for donors and carries out follow-up work to ensure that at least 90% of a person’s contribution reaches the organization they support.

Global Greengrants Fund
In the Global South, where resources and lands are exploited without regard for the people who live from them, Global Greengrants Fund supports environmentalism with a social conscience. It invests in local leaders and organizations calling for environmental justice in their own communities. In Africa, Asia, Latin America, and island nations, GGF channels donations into small grants to support grassroots campaigns and community-led projects and seed justice and sustainability from the ground up.

Crystal Hayling
Crystal Hayling consults with social enterprises and foundations in south-east Asia. Prior to moving to Singapore in 2010, she was President and CEO of Blue Shield of California Foundation, and she has has held leadership positions at the Marguerite Casey Foundation, the California Wellness Foundation, the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund and Medi-Cal Policy Institute. She is a board member of the Lien Centre for Social Innovation (Singapore) and the Center for Effective Philanthropy (United States).

Instituto Geração
The Instituto Geração (Generation Institute) is the first Brazilian NGO to support privileged youth in their philanthropy. Founded in 2007, it aims to promote and support the development of privileged young people, for them to be responsible for social change in Brazil. The focus of its work is to enhance the individual’s power as an agent of change, considering one’s different roles in the society: family member, citizen, employer, employee, consumer, entrepreneur and philanthropist.

Peter Laugharn
Peter Laugharn (pronounced LAW-harn) serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. Peter is a passionate leader with 25 years of foundation and nonprofit experience internationally, with a focus on improving the well-being of vulnerable children.
He was executive director of the Firelight Foundation from 2008 to 2014. Firelight identifies, funds, and supports promising African nonprofits serving vulnerable children and families in the areas of education, resilience, and health.

Paul Penley
Dr Paul T Penley is the director of research at the philanthropic advisory firm Excellence in Giving, where he evaluates the effectiveness of nonprofit organizations to advise family foundations on strategic giving. Karla Simon
Karla W Simon (西 门 雅) is Chairperson of ICCSL (www.iccsl.org — also available in Chinese), a full-service legal resource for civil society working principally in East Asia. She has retired from teaching to devote herself to writing and consulting full-time about civil society in China, splitting her time between Beijing and the New York City area. Her latest book Civil Society in China: The legal framework from ancient times to the ‘new reform era’ was published in March 2013 by Oxford University Press. Prof. Ge Yunsong of Peking University Law School has said this about the book: ‘As the most active and respected foreign expert in China’s reform of NPO law in the past 15 years, Prof. Simon’s book is very insightful.’

Trust Africa
TrustAfrica seeks to strengthen African initiatives that address the most difficult challenges confronting the continent. It currently focuses on three critical areas: securing the conditions for democracy; fostering African enterprise and achieving broadly shared prosperity; and cultivating African resources for democracy and development. It was founded in 2001 under the aegis of the Ford Foundation, becoming a truly African foundation in 2006 with the opening of their headquarters in Dakar, Senegal.
