Alliance magazine has teamed up with WINGS to host our next Breakfast Club at the EFC’s Annual General Conference, and present a new special feature on ‘philanthropy developers’.

What is the contribution of philanthropy’s infrastructure to the development of the field? There are many good reasons to invest in philanthropy infrastructure and all of them point to the need for concerted thought and action. Creating and maintaining a robust ecosystem of support to philanthropy isn’t a problem to be solved. It’s a process essential to nurturing and sustaining a strong philanthropic sector and a vibrant civil society. So why have funders been traditionally so reticent to invest in its development? Could this be about to change?

Panelists currently include Benjamin Bellegy of WINGS, Maria Chertok of CAF Russia, and editor of Alliance magazine, Charles Keidan who will be chairing the discussion.

Taking place during the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage, the 29th EFC AGA and Conference will be a cornerstone of Philanthropy Week – a series of exciting exhibitions, topical sessions and thought-provoking site visits. Brussels, a city synonymous with diversity, will be both host and gateway into an exciting world of culture – artistic, linguistic, architectural and much more besides – to celebrate its intrinsic value and the zest that it brings to life.
