Following reform of the laws governing Japan’s Public Benefit Corporations (PBCs) at the end of last year, the Japan Association of Charitable Organizations (JACO) has launched a new database, NOPODAS, which is designed to provide comprehensive information on Japanese PBCs. The ultimate goal of the database project is to cultivate the culture of giving in Japan, by encouraging PBCs to disclose as fully as possible information on their operational and giving activities.
