European foundations are not investing enough in their ‘human capital’. Knowledge about exemplary existing capacity-building activity in foundations is not widely known. ‘Peer to Peer’ learning and knowledge-sharing are effective means of building capacity, but need to be part of long-term and sustained programmes and to be more rooted in research and guidance on foundation practice.
