The Council on Foundations and the European Foundation Centre (EFC) are to jointly develop guidance for international grantmakers on accountability. A joint working group of the Council and EFC has been formed and will hold its first meeting this month. Over the course of the next year, it will define the scope of its work, conduct research, and consult with a wide range of grantmakers, grantseekers, academics and others around the world, aiming to produce a useful set of principles for international grantmakers by early 2006.
